The Key Players

Centennial CelebrationKey Players:  (Those who were at most of the meetings for the past 2 ½ years and worked exceptionally hard with multiple responsibilities)  *denotes BAHA board member


*Judi Scholz – General co-chairperson in charge of the Centennial Celebration, Publicity and Marketing, Entertainment Tent, programs & music, assisted with fundraising, Cheerleader

*Claudia Draganowski – General co-chairperson in charge of the Historical Museum – local history, displays and exhibits, prepared the Founder’s Day Dinner

Nori Nowego, Facilitator of Historic Events, working through the Northern Wisconsin Heritage Connection – facilitated our meetings this past year, compiled the Barnes Centennial booklet.

*Judy Neider – Secretary - took minutes at all meetings, in charge of all written correspondence including solicitation for sponsorships and donations.

*Mike Bowes – Treasurer – kept an accurate account of all Barnes Area Historical Association/Centennial Planning Committee funds.

*David Pease – Historian – compiled map of historical sites, gathered and shared historical information, demonstrated old logging and farming techniques, contributed to the Museum – our Barnes history teacher.

*Quentin Ruprecht – Designed the Barnes Historical Calendar, served as Publications Chairman, historian, major contributor to all aspects of the centennial.

*George Martin – Fundraiser and general promoter.

David Thorson – Author of the centennial book, “Barnes, a Breath of Fresh Air”

Marilyn Bowes – Centennial fundraising –the raffle, souvenirs and keepsakes.  Designed the vignettes in the Museum and was responsible for the Centennial Headquarters tent.

Linda Oberstar – Centennial book fundraiser – very successfully solicited donations for the publication of the book, and sold copies of the book
