Area Lakes

The famous Eau Claire Chain is comprised of Upper Eau Claire, Middle Eau Claire and Lower Eau Claire Lakes, as well as eight smaller connecting lakes for a total surface area of 3,200 acres of the finest fishing waters.

Scenic boat trips, through connecting channels and waterways via hand-operated locks, provide you with nature at its finest. Built in the late 1930's by the Federal Government and Bayfield County, these are among the few hand-operated locks left in the United States. These locks are now maintained by the Town of Barnes.

Eleven connected lakes make up the Eau Claire Chain, which are spring fed and crystal clear. Filled with Walleye, Northern, Musky, Bass and Panfish.
