Minutes of the Town of Barnes Planning Commission

                                             October 16, 2008

4:15PM

Planning Commission members present: Gene Ratzel, Dave Pease, Diane Rupnow.

Members Absent: Mitch McGee, Dick Webb.

Alternate absent: Duke Marten

Also Present: Jon Harkness, Dick Collyard

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dave Pease.

Roll call to establish quorum.

Agenda read.

Zoning, Land Use Applications:  

1- Profit Sharing Plan Quality Tape, Inc. Special Use Permit for short term rental, 50795 Peninsula Road.  

Motion (Rupnow/ Ratzel) to approve the request.  Discussion. Motion carried.

2- Dean and Tamara Renneke, Special Use Permit for short-term rental at 5440 Lyndale Bay. Motion (Rupnow/ Pease) to approve the request.  Discussion. Zoning has recommended the fire pit that is close to the lake be moved and that there be a no mow zone. Motion carried.

Public Comments: Jon Harkness asked about scheduling a meeting for a workshop regarding drainage of soils in this area as it relates to shoreline setbacks and density. It would be open to the public, but especially for commission members and the Town Board. The board of the Conservation Club and the Property Owner’s Assoc would be invited also. The meeting will be Nov 6 at 4pm at the Town Hall.

Motion (Ratzel/ Rupnow) to adjourn at 4:35. Motion carried.
