Agenda items:

1.      Minutes from the June 18, 2007

Minutes from the last meeting were reviewed. Ingemar asked the minutes be amended to include that Gus reported on the volunteer hours and paid hours for the EWM grant. Ingemar also mentioned that the topic of getting more volunteers from Tomahawk and Sandbar Lakes was discussed on June 18 and that should be included in the minutes. A motion to accept the minutes as amended was made by Lee Wiesner, seconded by Dave Pease: passed.

2.      CBCW boat landing efforts

John Kudlas reported that he feels Jack is doing a good job. We have some new recruits. John has heard that the landing monitors are doing a good job. Jack and John have made arrangements to hire a second substitute, Wendy Sue Hagins. The sign has been repaired at the Muck Lake landing. Bill Anderson, Ron Clark, Terry Boren, Audrey and Ron Neuman have gone through the training.

There are now signs at the manned landings advising the boaters that there is an attendant on duty.

There has been more landing done recently at the Island Lake landing.

Lee said he heard that there had been some problems at the boat landing with people not respecting the personnel. No one on the committee has heard anything about this.

3.      CBCW hours recording

Volunteer dollars now equals 42% of the grant hours. Gus feels Jack is doing a great job; he has been very vigilant in getting the documentation to Gus in a timely manner.

4.      Tomahawk and Sandbar Lakes research project

Pamela Toshner and Ingemar are working on the grant application for the EWM research project. The Town Board will be presented the resolution at the meeting tomorrow night. They need to sign it tomorrow night in order to make the grant application deadline.

Support letters for the grant have been submitted by: the Eau Claire Lakes POA, Potowatomi Property Owners, and the Conservation Club as well as the statement from the Town of Barnes. Documentation of public participation will be supplied through the minutes of the June 3, 2007 special meeting. Pam asked if there had been any volunteers recruited yet for the upcoming study. Ingemar responded that nothing has been done in that regard yet but scuba divers and weevil workers will be a couple types of people that will be recruited.
