  Silver Beach Elk Committee

 Statement of Mission

Compiled 10-29-05

By Quentin Ruprecht

This committee was formed to direct activities required to attempt to bring the “Silver Beach Elk” Display to the Barnes Area Historical Association (BAHA) Museum. The active members of BAHA assigned to this committee on October 20, 2005 are: Quentin Ruprecht, Helen Ruprecht, Lu Peet and George Martin. These members will be working with Anthropologist Dr. Jean Hudson of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Hudson is the Anthropologist in charge of the scientific research being conducted on the elk bones.

The mission of this committee is:

  1. To act as a clearing-house for all information about the Elk that is collected and released.

  1. To consult with the Museum Building Committee to make sure BAHA meets the required building and maintenance conditions of curation set forth by the State of Wisconsin Statutes.
