 OF THE TOWN OF BARNES

 COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLANNING COMMITTEE

 MEETING OF MARCH 12, 2003

 

 

 

Chairman Dave Pease called he meeting to order at 7:00PM.

 

Present: Ron Pearson, Duke Marten, LeRoy Wiesner, Marie Hughes, Dixie Chermack and Tim Kane.

Absent: Larry Peterson, Leslie Hall, Marcia Wellnitz and Don Zigman.

 

Motion was made to accept the February minutes by Ron Pearson, seconded by LeRoy Wiesner. Motion passed.

 

There was discussion if anyone had heard from any of the "consulting firms". Dave Pease talked with Impact Planning. Bill Kurtz from Ashland called and he was sent an RFP. Dixie spoke with Cedar Corporation. It was suggested we refer to inquiries to use our web site.

 

Brainstorming was done on the issues that might be facing Barnes in the next 20 years. Twenty -seven issues were brought forth. We will prioritize them and group them at our next meeting. These issues will help formulate our survey questions. Tim Kane passed out several samples of surveys we are to review.

 

Public Participation: Much discussion on how this could be done, i.e.; newspaper, web site of Town of Barnes, special meetings. The Town Board will have to adopt the Public Participation Plan.

 

Cost of Comprehensive Plan: Dave Pease asked about costs of Draft Plan copies, final plan copies and also making a poster plan (summary of final plan), tri-fold map showing key areas, No answer was given. The consulting firms will supply this information.

Motion by Marie Hughes / seconded by Ron Pearson to adjourn at 9:10PM. Motion passed.
