MINUTES OF THE

PUBLIC HEARING

OF NOVEMBER 17, 2009

Chairperson Lu Peet called the Public Hearing to order at 6:00PM.  The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was recited.  She asked the Clerk-Treasurer, Elaine Brustad to explain the budget for 2010.  Brustad explained the actual Levy was going to be a decrease of 3% as the Board felt there was excess monies left in the general fund the past few years.  Reserves of $102,816.00 will be used to reduce the levy.  Funds carried over from this year’s highway roadwork budget in the amount of $156,550.00 will be used to increase the roadwork budget for the coming year.  Supervisor Chris Webb said intergovernmental revenues were reduced a bit this year also, mainly from shared revenues.  Sinking funds have been increased for the highway department to $30,000.00 as Jerry will need to replace a vehicle in the next few years.  This coming year there was a sinking fund established for capital building improvements, for all the town’s buildings in case a larger repair or renovation needs to be done.  The amount set aside for that is $50,000.00.   Brustad said she didn’t have all the figures yet to complete the town levy, which includes those of the state, county, Drummond school and WITC along with the town’s, but anticipated the levy would be lower than last year’s.

Motion ( V Friermood/M Wellnitz) to close the Public Hearing.  Motion carried.
