MINUTES OF THE TOWN OF BARNES COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING OF FEBRUARY 18, 2004

The meeting was called to order by Patrick Beilfuss of Cedar Corporation.

This was not the regular monthly meeting of the Comprehensive Land Use Planning Committee, but a brain storming session of citizens, committee members and the Town Board of the Town of Barnes.

Three representatives from Cedar Corporation and Tim Kane-UW Extension Agent led four groups in the session. Each group addressed three questions.

  1. What are the strengths of the Town of Barnes?
  2. What areas need improvement?
  3. What should the Town of Barnes look like in 10-20 years?

Each group had approximately twenty seven answers for each question. Each of the four groups prioritized the answers and got the number down to three answers for each question. Therefore there were in total twelve answers for each question.

The groups then broke up and the entire large group prioritized each of the twelve answers to three in each category. The results of this brain storming session, along with the results of the Town of Barnes Survey, will be discussed at the April 14, 2004 Comprehensive Land Use Planning meeting. All citizens are invited to attend.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:30PM.
