Barnes Community Health Fair – Friday, October 12, 2007 -- (Note location change)

 

The 2007 Barnes Community Health Fair sponsored by the Barnes Community VFW Auxiliary 8329 will be held at the Barnes Community Church on Highway N from 9 to 1 on Friday, October 12.

 

A fine professional staff has been lined up:

  • Dr. Judith Bennington, Ophthalmologist
  • Laurie Gay and staff from Hayward Hospital, lab
  • Maxim Health Systems, flu shots
  • Diane Rupnow, RN
  • Michael Larson, representative from Miracle Ear
  • Nancy Larson, Duluth Clinic-Ashland, bone density
  • Marianne Johnson, benefit specialist
  • Marilyn Jenkins, on smoking
  • Dori Engholm, New Day Shelter
  • RSVP, File for Life
  • Kathy Miller, Bayfield County Family Living Agent, Identity Theft
  • Rich Elliker, vision impaired
  • Brook Jaeger, a representative from the Alzheimer’s Association
  • Marcia Wellnitz, EMT

 

We are so grateful for these dedicated people who give of their time and expertise to make our Health Fair a real service to the community.

 

The following are fees:

  • Flu shots for $30, or Medicare B. 
  • Five item blood chemistry (12 hour fast) $12
  • Urinalysis test $2
  • Hemocult card $5

 

All other services are free.  These include:

  • Glaucoma test
  • Blood Pressure test
  • Bone Density test
  • Hearing evaluation

 

Appointments for Mammograms will be taken the day of the Health Fair and the Mammograms will be given on November 2, 2007 at the church.
